Steal An Egg Rift vs Lab: Inputs, Banners and Pity Limits
Identify the crafting system in front of you before collecting ingredients or interpreting a pity counter.
The old Rift guide describes three requested pets; newer Lab reports describe three requested unhatched eggs. The old Wiki screenshot shows PITY 0/50 without establishing the server reward at that limit. A newer report says Lab pity changed from 200 to 100. These are different system and date contexts, not one combined guarantee.
Identify the interface and input object
The Wiki Rift guide records an exchange requiring three requested pets and says its example is not a permanent recipe. Eggipedia’s newer Lab guide describes the lobby replacement accepting eggs. Read the current name, active banner and ingredient cards before collecting or hatching inputs.

| Record | Input / counter | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Old Rift Wiki | Requested pets; visible 0/50 meter | Guaranteed server reward and shared progress not established |
| Newer Lab report | Requested eggs; reported 200 → 100 pity change | Current persistence and guarantee need the live panel |
| A player says “50/100” | Original discussion context unavailable | Cannot decide the system from the number alone |
Read a pity counter as an incomplete rule
A counter has a current value and a visible limit. To plan around it, you also need to know what increments it, which reward it guarantees, whether it resets, and what happens when the banner changes. The display alone does not answer all five questions.
- Record the system name, current banner and ingredient type.
- Read the explanation attached to the pity meter if present.
- Before a submission, record the counter and the displayed possible rewards.
- After an affordable submission, record the result and the new counter.
- Before changing or waiting for a banner, establish whether progress persists rather than assuming it.
Do not confuse the lobby exchange with the boss portal
The old Wiki page explicitly separates its three-pet exchange from the Rift boss event. A portal, a crafting machine and a mastery track can appear in related guides without sharing inputs or pity. Start with the interface that performs your intended action.
When your remembered recipe no longer works
Recheck the current request instead of spending on another copy of an old ingredient. Do not hatch a required egg until the panel tells you whether it wants an egg or a pet. Preserve the old record as history, then make a new list for the system you can actually use.
Lab pity persistence, server rewards and exact reroll costs have not been tested. The historical numbers are not a current spending promise.
Common questions
Was the old Rift exchange replaced, and did the pity system change?
The 50 record is an old Rift meter; the newer report describes Lab changing from 200 to 100. The current guaranteed reward and persistence are not established. Identify the interface before comparing the numbers.
