Steal An Egg Income: Active Pets, Payback and Offline Limits

Make income decisions from the change in your active earning rate, while keeping offline estimates separate from online calculations.

Quick answer

Compare the income added to your active set, not just a new pet’s headline rate. The Wiki reports offline pet income and continued egg growth, but says offline earnings are lower and leaves the exact percentage and cap unverified. Your base’s displayed offline amount is a personal estimate, not a fixed reward for every player.

Use added income as the benefit

The official description confirms that pets earn money. For planning, first identify whether a new pet replaces an earner or occupies an unused active slot. A pet earning 300 units per second adds 300 in a free slot, but only adds 100 if it replaces a pet earning 200 under the same conditions. The numbers are hypothetical; the comparison method is what matters.

Calculate payback with the right denominator

Simple payback = upgrade cost ÷ positive added income per second. If an illustrative upgrade costs 60,000 and adds 200 per second, payback is 300 seconds, or five minutes. Using a new total rate of 800 instead would give 75 seconds and answer a different question. Neither calculation includes travel, failed runs, hatch waiting or changing boosts.

  1. Record your stable income before the change.
  2. Record the exact cost and which pets or slots would change.
  3. Calculate the positive added rate using the same units.
  4. Add any lost-input or waiting cost that matters to your choice.
  5. After the change, compare the measured rate and revise the estimate.

What is known about offline earnings

The Wiki base guide reports that pets keep earning offline at a lower rate than equivalent online time. Its screenshot represents one player’s base, and it explicitly leaves the exact offline percentage, accumulation cap and growth rate unverified. Do not use that player’s displayed daily amount as your expected reward.

To estimate your own result, record your active set and displayed offline amount before leaving, then compare the reward after a known interval. Use several intervals before assuming linear growth: a cap or changed pet set can break that assumption. A daily estimate and a collected reward are different measurements.

When the next upgrade is too expensive

Keep earning with the current set and look for a reachable improvement. A faster route to a modest replacement can beat waiting for an uncertain rare hatch, but this needs your actual success rate and time cost. No all-player fastest-money route or maximum-income ranking is established here.

Common questions

Why is offline income different from online income?

The Wiki reports offline income, lower than equivalent online time. Its exact percentage, cap and account-specific reward are unverified; compare your own before/after amounts.
